What is the difference between Group Fitness Classes and Personal Training Sessions?
Personal Training Sessions are scheduled with a Personal Trainer at the time you purchase your training package.  Personal Training Sessions are customized to fit your individual needs.  Group Fitness Classes are small groups that participate in a variety of exercise programs that may consist of Strength Training, Circuit Training, Cardio, H.I.T.T., Tabata and TRX Suspension Training.  Multiple classes are offered at various days and times Monday through Saturday.  As a Group Class participant you have the flexibility to decide day by day what days and times you choose to attend a class.  The amount of days per week you can attend depends on the package purchased.

How do I know what Group Fitness Classes I can attend?
All Group Fitness Classes are modifiable for each participant's fitness level from beginning to advance.  Once you have purchased your Group Fitness Class session(s) you are free to register for any class MGM Fitness offers.  You must register for the class you plan on attending via our website or by downloading our Smart Phone App no later than 2.5 hours prior to class commencing and is limited to the first 8 -12 participants (depending on the class) per class.  If a class is full that you would like to attend, you can ask to be put on a waiting list. If someone cancels, you will be notified of the opening on the roster.

When do my classes I purchase expire?
If you have purchased a Single Session it expires the day you register to attend a class.  If you have purchased a Monthly Package (Contracted or Non-contracted) it expires one month from the date of purchase.  Class Series packages expire 4 months from the date of purchase.

Are classes modifiable based on each participant's individual fitness level?
Yes.  Classes are designed to work with individuals at all levels.  Depending on your fitness level, the instructor will modify the exercise program.  This is why MGM Fitness keeps class settings small.  We want to make sure everyone learns proper form and has a positive experience while training in our Studio.

What if I want to participate in both Personal Training and Group Fitness Classes?
We offer Personal Training packages that include Group Fitness Classes.  Contact Us for more information on the packages we have available.

What is HIIT?
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training.  HITT is a training style that alternates between low to moderate intervals with high intensity intervals.  This type of training is considered to be much more effective than normal cardio because the intensity is higher and you are able to increase both your aerobic and anaerobic endurance while burning more fat.  HITT works for individuals with different fitness goals because it can be customized to meet each person's needs. Therefore, whether you are trying to lose fat while still building muscle or your trying to improve your aerobic and anaerobic endurance, this form of exercise will work for you.

What is Tabata?
Tabata training is a type of HIIT that follows a specific format.  It consists of 20 seconds of a very high intensity exercise (e.g. sprints, squats) followed by 10 seconds of rest.  The intervals of 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off is repeated 8 times before the Tabata workout is complete.  Since this style of training can be redundant, many instructors have modified the original Tabata workout into what is now known as Tabata Bootcamp.  The Tabata Bootcamp still consists of the 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off with 8 sets but many times incorporating multiple exercises into each interval.  This allows for more than one body part to be focused on during the workout.

What is Circuit Training?
Circuit Training is a fast-paced class in which you do one exercise for a set amount of time and then move on to another exercise.  Circuit Training classes can vary.  Some classes will incorporate both aerobic and strength training, while other classes may focus mainly on either aerobic or strength training.  The class is developed based on the needs of attendees of each class.
